4% Reservation Will Be Scrapped If You Support Modi, Revanth Reddy Tells Minorities – News18

Revanth Reddy said there were not many parties in the country. There were only two – one was the Modi pariwar and the other was Gandhi pariwar.

In an attempt to win the confidence of minority voters in the state, Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy on Monday appealed to the minority communities to support the Congress party to protect the reservations granted to them.

While speaking at the Minorities Welfare Day celebration in Hyderabad, Reddy took a jibe at BJP saying that they take away the votes of the minority communities and then bring laws to scrap the the reservations.

“During Ramzan, they wear sherwanis and have biryani along with you and out of sentiment, you support them. But think wisely, they take your votes here and whom do they support in Delhi?” Reddy asked the gathering.

The Chief Minister further said there were not many parties in the country. There were only two – one was the Modi pariwar and the other was Gandhi pariwar.

“If you decide to support Modi pariwar, they will scrap the four percent reservation provided exclusively to minorities by the Congress. Decide for yourself on whom to support,” he said.

He further said that he was bit upset with the minority communities as they had not elected even one minority candidate from the Congress in any of 119 constituencies in the State, reported Telangana Today. He said that this was the reason why there was no Minority Minister in the State cabinet.

Meanwhile, Advisor to the State government, Mohd Ali Shabbir openly challenged the saffron party saying it could never scrap the OBC reservation provided to minorities by the Congress.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have been saying that they will scrap Muslim reservations. Kisike baap se bhi ye nahi ho sakta (none can do this),” Shabbir said as quoted by the news outlet.
