Amazon is finally ready to show its AI-powered Alexa in front of the world later this month and we are excited to see the new avatar.

Amazon has admitted its delayed push in the AI race but that could change later this month as the company gets set for an event which seems to involve the new-look Alexa with AI upgrades.

Amazon has tried multiple times to make its AI assistant work but it has been delayed by quite a bit, giving its rivals a good head start, including Apple which is also now offering some AI features for its users. The AI-powered Alexa was first teased in 2023 and the company was even forced to hold back the beta version of Alexa AI because it wasn’t happy with how the AI platform had developed so far.

But now we could finally see it in full glory on February 26 when Amazon is going to host its next event.

Amazon Alexa AI Upgrades: Third Time Lucky?

The company has lost some time in the battle of AI, which now even has a strong Chinese contingent in the market. But Amazon feels that Alexa and its own AI applications need to serve their purpose and get rid of any hallucinations before it gets in our hands.

In fact, Amazon’s AGI chief Rohit Prasad, was recently quoted by the Financial Times where he said the company is working hard to ensure there are zero AI hallucinations. This generally happens when the AI starts projecting responses based on falsified history or details. Prasad has even mentioned that Amazon aims to relaunch Alexa as an AI agent that will more likely function like ChatGPT or Gemini AI, which is definitely the way to go in 2025.

The new Alexa in AI avatar needs to click for the company, and we are hoping the AI agent is made available to all existing Echo devices. Amazon needs to find the right formula and traction before it inevitably decides to put a price tag on these AI features, which needs the technology to work glitch-free.
