Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin fame Ayesha Singh is making her comeback on television soon. The actress will star as the titular character, a chef, in her upcoming serial titled Mannat: Har Khushi Paane Ki. The Colors TV show will also feature Mona Vasu and Adnan Khan. It will revolve around the troubled relationship of a mother-daughter duo who isn’t unaware of their blood relation.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Ayesha talked about her upcoming serial, explaining why she decided to choose Mannat over other offers. Sharing that the storyline and her character were the main reasons, she said, “When I went to Mukta (producer) Ma’am’s house for narration, there was a point when I had tears in my eyes. This had not happened to me in the last 6-8 months after hearing the narration, so that happened, and I decided that I would play Mannat.”
When asked if she had been offered other television or reality shows before Mannat, Ayesha nodded yes. The actress revealed that she had heard a bunch of narrations. But nothing clicked. Further, she emphasised that she was looking for opportunities to hone her acting skills, which is why reality shows were out of the question. “I wanted a good story, and as I said, I was teary-eyed when I heard Mannat’s story. I got a gut feeling about doing this show. Before that, there were quite a lot of narrations that happened,” explained Ayesha.
Ayesha, who will play a chef in her new show, was then asked if she learned culinary skills to play the character. The actress talked about learning to chop. However, she admitted that she practised chopping with a much smaller knife, the ones usually used in regular households.
This small blunder made her realise that professional cooks use much bigger knives in restaurant kitchens. She said, “I didn’t know how to chop, but now I do it smoothly during scenes on my own. We don’t need somebody to do it for us. That I have done.” The Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin actress also revealed that she had watched videos and kept a diary in which she noted the habits, discipline, mannerisms, and postures that should be followed in the kitchen.
Speaking about her bond with her co-stars Mona Vasu and Adnan Khan, who are set to play Aishwarya and Vikrant, respectively, Ayesha said, “It’s very sweet. Now it’s very new so we are getting to know each other. Rest everything is sweet.” The actress shared that Mona is a dog lover, while she is scared of dogs.
“She has been very nice to me and telling me all these stories. I’m getting a chance to know her,” added Ayesha.
She also talked about her bond with Adnan, recalling a flight she took with him for an outdoor shoot. Ayesha mentioned, “I made some cute videos of him, and I’m waiting for the show’s launch, and then I put them. I’m getting to know him. He is usually quiet.”
