Fans can’t keep calm as they eagerly await the upcoming drama Newtopia, featuring BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and South Korean actor Park Jung Min. The story follows Jae Yoon (played by Park Jung Min), who is serving in the military, and his girlfriend Young Joo (portrayed by Jisoo) as they battle through a zombie-infested city in Seoul.

Another still circulating on the Internet shows Jae Yoon navigating a perilous, zombie-infested high-rise in central Seoul, heightening the tension for fans. Additionally, another image features Young Joo running through the streets of Gangnam, appearing to flee after a zombie attack. This highly anticipated series will take a fresh take on the apocalypse genre, with romance and survival at its core.

Coupang Play’s upcoming series Newtopia will feature Park Jung Min and BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, directed by Yoon Sung Hyun. Known for his successful films like Bleak Night and Time to Hunt, Yoon Sung Hyun’s direction has garnered significant praise from fans. To note, Newtopia will premiere on February 7 next year. According to the reports, episodes will be out at 8 p.m. KST. At the same time, international fans will be able to stream it on Prime Video in over 240 countries.

Meanwhile, Jisoo of BLACKPINK is more focused on her acting career than singing. The 29-year-old K-pop idol was last seen in the K-drama Snowdrop. Apart from Newtopia, she is also gearing up for her upcoming role in The Prophet: Omniscient Reader, where she will star alongside Lee Min Ho and Ahn Hyo Seop.
