Veteran TV actress Usha Nadkarni joined the star-studded list of contestants for Celebrity Masterchef.

One of the most eagerly awaited shows of the year, Celebrity Masterchef, is set to premiere in just a few days. The star-studded lineup includes well-known contestants like Dipika Kakkar, Tejasswi Prakash, Archana Gautam, Gaurav Khanna, and more. Recently, the makers released a series of promos, offering fans a sneak peek into the exciting dynamics of the new season. Among the celebrities joining the competition is the veteran actress Usha Nadkarni, renowned for her role in Pavitra Rishta. At the age of 78, she will be seen participating in this culinary showdown alongside the other stars.

In the promo, the actress could be seen speaking about the challenges that she could face on the show such as cooking continental food or baking a cake. “Mujhe khanna banana aata hai, lekin ab bologe continental banao – aata nahi, cake banao – aata nahi,” she shared. Opening up on her struggles, she added, “They ask us to start and then tell – only 10 minutes are left.” At one point, the veteran actress could been venting out her frustration over the deadlines in front of the judges.

In the end, she concludes, “Agar kuch aayega nahi, toh raise hi khadi rahungi (If I can’t do anything, I will stand here like this.)”

Prior to this, Usha Nadkarni spoke about her newest TV venture, stating, “After decades of entertaining audiences, I am trading my screen presence for a new spot in the kitchen. As the oldest contestant on Masterchef, I am ready to show the younger ones that experience and wisdom can be just as valuable as youthful energy. Bring on the challenges as I am running to dish out.”

Other contestants on the show are Rajiv Adatia, Faisal Shaikh aka Mr Faizu, Kavita Singh, Chandan Prabhakar Abhijeet Sawant, and Nikki Tamboli. Apart from the star-studded line-up of contestants, Celebrity Masterchef will be judged by celebrity chefs Ranveer Brar and Vikas Khanna followed by Bollywood director Farah Khan.

The show’s premiere date is yet to be confirmed.

As shown in the show’s teaser, the judges will be bringing a whole new set of challenges for the celebrities. “Jinko dekhkar kal pura India seeti bajata that, ab un sabki seeti bajeji,” they said in the teaser.
