The tech billionaire and Trump adviser accused President Volodymyr Zelensky of running a “fraud machine” in his latest series of brutal criticisms.
The comments, posted on his social media platform X, mark an escalation in tensions between Trump’s inner circle and Kyiv.
Musk explicitly endorsed Trump’s decision to “ignore” the Ukrainian president in negotiations with Russia.

The billionaire challenged Zelensky to hold an election, claiming the Ukrainian leader had cancelled it because “he knows he would lose in a landslide”.
The Tesla CEO dismissed Zelensky’s popularity as being based on a “Zelensky-controlled poll”.
“In reality, he is despised by the people of Ukraine, which is why he has refused to hold an election”, Musk wrote on X.
He further demanded: “I challenge Zelensky to hold an election and refute this. He will not. President Trump is right to ignore him and solve for peace independent of the disgusting, massive graft machine”.
Musk’s rhetoric continued during his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference near Washington on Thursday.
Sporting a Maga baseball cap and sunglasses, he received a chainsaw as a gift from Argentina’s President Milei.

“People ask if I’m a bought asset of Putin… He couldn’t afford me”, Musk told the conservative gathering.
He called for “empathy for the people dying on the front line” while claiming Ukraine was plagued by corruption.
“Graft and bribery… guys are being fed into the meatgrinder for money. That needs to stop”, he declared, adding that “we’re trying to end the war”.
Relations between Washington and Kyiv hit a new low as a planned joint press conference with Zelensky and Trump’s special envoy Keith Kellogg was cancelled at Washington’s request.
The White House revealed President Trump was “very frustrated” with Zelensky and had a “personal” problem with the Ukrainian president.
Meanwhile, Trump’s special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, spoke of developing a “friendship” with President Putin after visiting Moscow last week.
“I spent a lot of time with Putin. Talking and developing a friendship and relationship with him”, Witkoff said at a Saudi-run conference in Miami.
Trump has repeatedly branded Zelensky a “dictator” this week, claiming Kyiv was responsible for starting the war.
The conflict actually began in February 2022 when Putin ordered Russian troops to attack Ukraine.
Zelensky secured a comfortable victory in Ukraine’s last elections in 2019.

A planned vote for last year was postponed following the imposition of martial law. The holding of new elections in Ukraine remains a key demand from Russia.
Mike Waltz, Trump’s national security adviser, addressed the growing tensions on Thursday at the White House.
“Some of the rhetoric coming out of Kyiv and insults to President Trump were unacceptable”, he stated.
He confirmed Trump’s strained relationship with the Ukrainian leader, saying: “Trump is obviously very frustrated with Zelensky right now”.
