Emergency services rush to Birmingham fairground ride

Emergency crews have rushed to a fairground ride in Birmingham city centre.

Police officers and ambulances were called to the scene in Centenary Square at 19:29 GMT on Thursday.

Reports on social media suggested the swings on the ride are tangled, but the BBC has been unable to verify these claims.

It has not yet been confirmed whether anybody has been injured.

West Midlands Police and the ambulance service have been contacted for comment.
