Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar on Sunday said that the face of Channapatna and ‘Bengaluru South’ district will change in the next three years.

Speaking at an event organised to thank the party workers and leaders for achieving a victory in the Channapatna bypolls, he said: “The district has strengthened the Congress by electing four MLAs. We will change the face of Channapatna and Bengaluru South district together with development”.

“I don’t want to criticise anyone. The people of the constituency have replied to the JD(S) and the BJP leaders such as H.D. Deve Gowda, H.D. Kumaraswamy, and B.S. Yediyurappa. Your message is reverbrating across the country. You have shown that the people of Channapatna can’t be taken for a ride,” he added.

“After the previous MLA resigned, we brought the government to your doorstep. Over 25,000 people have submitted their pleas. I had promised you even before the election that this constituency is my responsibility. We will bring change together. We will regularly review the progress on our promises,” he said.

C.P. Yogehwar, MLA, D.K. Suresh, former MP, and other leaders spoke and invited JD(S) workers to join the Congress.
