Television actor Gaurav Khanna, who became a household name after his stint as Anuj Kapadia in the popular TV show, Anupamaa, is all set to return to the television world. After being off the screens for two months, Gaurav Khanna is expected to have already signed a new show. If the reports are to be believed, the actor will participate as a contestant in the upcoming season of MasterChef India. Yes, you read that correctly!

As per a report by India Today, the makers are bringing the Anupamaa actor on board as one of the participants in the culinary competition. However, there is no official confirmation regarding the same.

Joining Gaurav Khanna on the show are some of the well-known television personalities. It is rumoured celebrities like Tejasswi Prakash, Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, Usha Nadkarni, Chandan Prabhakar and Rajiv Adatia have been signed as contestants of Celebrity MasterChef India.

Talking about the upcoming season, the much-anticipated cooking reality show, MasterChef season 9, is

to introduce celebrities in the culinary competition who will compete to win the ultimate title. The show promises to take the competition to new heights with Farah Khan, who will bring her signature wit as both host and judge. Other judges who will judge the cooking skills of the contestants are chefs Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar.

As the show gears for its new season, we can expect a thrilling ride filled with delicious food, plenty of entertainment and intense challenges among contestants.

A source close to the production revealed that the contestants have already started filming their promos in Mumbai. Though the first round of auditions happened earlier this year with home cooks, the team decided to add celebs for more glamour to the show. Reports also revealed that this idea of having celebrities as contestants came from the popularity of Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment.

Speaking about Gaurav Khanna’s acting career, the actor made his small-screen debut with Siddhanth in 2005. Since then, he has come a long way in his career and is now counted among the most-loved TV stars. Till now, he has appeared in shows like Prem Ya Paheli—Chandrakanta, Kumkum: Ek Pyaara Sa Bandhan, Meri Doli Tere Angna, Jeevan Saathi, CID, Sasural Simar Ka, Tere Bin and Gangaa.

He was last seen in Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa and the rest is history. Featuring Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey in lead roles, Gaurav Khanna received a lot of appreciation for his role as Anuj Kapadia. The show turned out to be the biggest turning point in his career and made him a household name. Fans loved the on-screen pairing of Gaurav and Rupali, but due to a 15-year time leap in the show, the actor had to exit from the top-rated drama after around three years, leaving fans heartbroken.
