Google’s AI image model is now making its way to Docs which means you can create images with prompts.

The new AI image generator tool now works on Docs

Google has rolled out a new significant Gemini AI feature, called the image generator to its Google Docs, which allows users to add visuals for their write-ups. The tech giant wrote in its blog post, “You can now make photorealistic photographs of people, landscapes, and more with even higher detail than before.” The update comes after the company upgraded the Docs with Gemini integration to create full-bleed cover images.

The new image-generating feature is powered by Google’s Imagen 3 image generation algorithm, which allows you to customise image size, aspect ratio and photography styles including watercolour. ” You may further customise your document by producing a unique cover picture with Gemini in Docs, which can add character to a résumé, style an invitation, or personalise a client pitch,” said Google.

How Image Integration Works in Google Docs

– Open the Google Docs and navigate to the ‘Insert Menu’ option on the top left bar and click on ‘Help Me – Create and Image Option

– A create an Image panel will open in the sidebar with a text box where users can provide a prompt, from which the image will be generated.

– The sidebar tool features three aspect ratios and a dropdown menu with different layouts

– Click on the ‘Create’ Button to see several suggested images

– Users can additionally request more options and select which ones they want to include as in-line images in their paper

– After adding the image, users can see options such as replace image, reposition, find alt text, and delete

– Similar to the cover image production tools, Google Docs’ new image generation features are only available to Google Workspace subscribers.

As per the tech giant, the feature will be available to Workspace customers who have subscriptions to Gemini Business, Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education, Gemini Education Premium and Google One AI Premium.

The AI-powered image generator will initially be rolled out to Rapid Release domains, which might take up to 15 days. Domains on Scheduled Release will see the feature from December 16. Furthermore, Google also asks users to provide suggestions in case of inaccurate images and submit them as feedback.
