Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has sought a report from Kerala University on the violence that unfolded on the campus on Monday during an agitation conducted by the Students Federation of India (SFI).
The protesters had barged into the office of Vice-Chancellor in-charge Mohanan Kunnummal and pasted posters, accusing him of being a functionary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Prof. Kunnummal was not on campus when the agitation took place.
The police subsequently arrested nearly 15 protesters and let them off on bail. Besides, the university had served a show-cause notice on a security officer for alleged lapses.
