The Dallas Mavericks trio of Klay Thompson, Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic was unstoppable in the NBA on Friday. Spearheaded by three of the biggest stars of the game, the Mavericks put away the San Antonio Spurs 120-109. In one particular sequence during the game, the Mavericks pulled off three successive three-pointers. Moments later Doncic added a fourth to spark a loud cheer in the stadium. The official NBA account shared a video of the dominant sequence on X (formerly Twitter). “Klay 3. Kyrie 3. Klay 3. Luka 3. This Dallas offense…,” read the post.
Several fans reacted to the top-tier attacking showcase from the Dallas Mavericks. One social media user wrote, “That sequence is looking fire! Klay, Kyrie, Luka – all hitting those threes is a sign of serious offensive firepower for Dallas.”
One added, “These guys are so impressive.”
Another person was awestruck by the sequence and wrote, “This Dallas offense is like a three-point buffet – can’t get enough!”
“The Dallas offense is absolutely scorching! Klay, Kyrie and Luka with those threes is pure entertainment,” read a response.
“They are actually starting to shoot the lights out,” read one comment.
The match between Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs marked a new era for Klay Thompson. It was the first time fans saw the shooting guard suit up for an NBA team other than the Golden State Warriors. Klay’s electric 22 points and six three-pointers were the most by any Mavericks player in their maiden appearance for the club.
Klay Thompson won the NBA four times with the Golden State Warriors in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. His average of 17.9 points per game last season was Klay’s lowest since the 2012-13 season. Given his recent showcase for the Dallas Mavericks, he has seemingly found a fresh start he was looking for at the Mavericks.
Speaking of the game, Luka Doncic led the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. He racked up 28 points while accumulating 10 rebounds and eight assists. Kyrie Irving followed Luka and Klay Thompson in third place with 15 points. He helped with three rebounds and two assists.
