With just over a week remaining till the Maharashtra assembly elections on November 20, political parties in the state are intensifying campaigns for their candidates.

The campaign for the polls has also gained momentum, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda all holding rallies across the state.

On Monday, Union Minister and BJP leader Piyush Goyal said that the presence of these leaders would boost the Mahayuti’s chances of victory, as their message of unity and growth resonates with voters throughout Maharashtra.

The ruling Mahayuti alliance, consisting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, Ajit Pawar-led NCP, and other smaller parties, is at loggerheads with INDIA bloc-led alliance, Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

The MVA is made up of the Congress, Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray, and the Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar.

The elections for the 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra will take place in a single phase on November 20, with the vote count scheduled for November 23.
