Maharashtra Elections LIVE Updates: As the Navratri festivities conclude with Dussehra on Saturday, a celebration of the victory of good over evil will be witnessed in poll-bound Maharashtra with multiple political parties looking to score brownie points ahead of the Assembly elections in the state.

The ‘Super Saturday’ of Dussehra rallies on October 12 will see Chief Minister Eknath Shinde leading Shiv Sena at Azad Maidan, while Uddhav Thackeray will lead the Shiv Sena (UBT) rally at Shivaji Park, the original venue. Like last year, this year too both factions released video trailers seeking to one-up the other in their claim to be the real keepers of founder Balasaheb Thackeray’s legacy.

Apart from Dussehra rallies by the two Sena factions, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and Maratha activist Manoj Jarange will also lead respective rallies to mark the festival in poll-bound Maharashtra.

The Election Commission is expected to announce Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly elections after Dussehra and the political parties believe that polls can be held mid-November. In such a case, the Dussehra rallies serve as the perfect platform for mainstream political parties to show their strength and blow the poll bugle in Maharashtra.
