Former Chief Minister and ADMK Workers Rights Retrieval Committee leader O. Panneerselvam on Sunday (February 23, 2025) criticised the DMK government over the death of a man, who despite having been recruited as a teacher, had not received his appointment order for the past eights months.
The man identified as A. Velmurugan of Oddanchatram taluk in Dindigul district, had been recruited by the Teachers Recruitment Board, but had not been handed over his appointment letter over eights months since, he said.
According to him, protesting teachers had charged that the DMK’s alleged inefficient administration was the reason behind his death, Mr. Panneerselvam said. “I strongly condemn the delay in handing over appointment orders. A family stands without any support only because of the DMK government,” he charged.
Contending that the government had the duty and the responsibility to extend a helping hand to the bereaved family, Mr. Panneerselvam demanded the State government to provide the deceased’s wife a government job.
