Antony has failed to fire on all cylinders for Manchester United so far (X)
It seems as if Manchester United finally have found a way to offload Brazilian winger Antony, temporarily at least, as the Red Devils have reportedly agreed on a deal with Real Betis to send Antony off to La Liga till the end of the current season.
With a bag full of nothing but one trick and nothing to show for the same as well, Antony has inarguably gone down as one of the worst signings ever in the Red Devils’ club history.
The Brazilian seems to have completely fallen out of favour at Old Trafford, especially under new boss Ruben Amorim, with seemingly no way to break through to the first team currently.

Antony seems to have been one of the first to get the axe, as acclaimed football reporter Fabrizio Romano stated that United have agreed terms with Betis to send the winger to Spain till the end of the season with a no buy-back clause.

Antony joined United from Ajax in the summer of 2022, under the rule of Erik Ten Hag, for an eye-watering sum of £86 million ($109m), making him the second most expensive signing in the club’s history.
But, unfortunately for United, Antony has been nothing short of a failure since then, registering an abysmal goal and assist each all through the Premier League campaign last year, and failing to make any contribution for the club in the 8 games he has played so far this season.
His off-field controversies have also not helped. Antony was hit with allegations of domestic abuse, which he strongly denied, a event that led to him being dropped by Brazil in September last year and spending some time back in South America to clear his name.
United’s troubles though won’t come to a halt with just this one move. After having fired Ten Hag, the Red Devils, now led by Ruben Amorim, have continued to struggle in the Premier League, slumping to an atrocious 13th place with just 26 points from 22 games as of now.
Amorim though has not been shy of admitting the sheer lack of success since his appointment, brandishing his side as “maybe the worst team” in the club’s history,
Amorim has won just six of 16 games in cahrge so far with three of those coming in his Europa League ties against Bodø/Glimt, Viktoria Plzen and Rangers.
