North Korea – Launch of an intermediate-range ballistic missile (06.01.25)

France utterly condemns North Korea’s launch of an intermediate-range ballistic missile on 6 January, which constitutes a further violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions.

France assures South Korea and Japan of its wholehearted solidarity. It urges North Korea to end its destabilizing actions immediately, abide by its international obligations without delay and return to the negotiating table with a view to embarking on a process of complete, verifiable and irreversible abandonment of its nuclear and ballistic programmes.

France is fully mobilized with its partners, with the goal of ensuring the implementation of the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, and encourages dialogue between all parties.
