This new functionality, developed in partnership with Instagram, allows users to capture bright, clear, and detailed images in dimly lit environments without switching to the phone’snative camera app.
By bringing this feature directly into Instagram, OnePlus is adding a new layer to night time photography, which makes it convenient for users to take high-quality pictures on social media.
While this innovation is a significant step forward, it remains uncertain whether the feature will be exclusive to the OnePlus 13 or if it will be extended to other devices, such as the OnePlus 13R or earlier models like the OnePlus 12. OnePlus has yet to provide any official confirmation regarding its availability on additional smartphones.
How the OnePlus 13 Night Mode Works on Instagram recent post on the OnePlus Community forum revealed that the company collaborated with Meta, the parent company of Instagram, to introduce this innovative feature. To take advantage of it, OnePlus 13 users must ensure they have updated Instagram to the latest version available.
When taking photos in dim lighting with the built-in camera on the app, users will notice a small moon icon appearing on the screen, indicating that Night Mode is active. To capture a bright and detailed shot, they simply need to tap the shutter button and hold their device steady for a few moments while the image processes. Once the photo is ready, it can be instantly shared as a post or story without any extra effort.
