P.P. Divya’s last remark led to Kannur ADM Naveen Babu’s death, action taken immediately, says M.V. Jayarajan

Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] district secretary M.V. Jayarajan said that the final remark in P.P Divya’s speech was the primary reason behind ADM K. Naveen Babu’s death. He said that the party immediately recognised that the remark was inappropriate and took action against her.

Addressing a press conference during the CPI(M) Kannur district conference, Mr. Jayarajan clarified that the party’s stance on the issue remained unchanged. His statement was in response to a question whether delegates at the district conference had raised criticism against Ms. Divya.

The district conference report explicitly mentioned that Ms. Divya’s remarks at Naveen Babu’s farewell were unjustified. Delegates also questioned the adequacy of the action taken against her, highlighting concerns over her conduct.
