Snooker row erupts at UK Championships as Steve Davis makes urgent demand to tournament bosses
Steve Davis has called on UK Championship chiefs to immediately relevel the tournament tables after Stuart Bingham saw a shot move off line.
Bingham was facing off against Anda Zhang for a place in the UK Championship quarter-finals.
He opened up a commanding 5-1 lead over his Chinese opposition, which included a blown chance at a 147 break in the fifth frame.
Bingham needed just one more frame to progress to the next round, but Zhang began to fight back.
Stuart Bingham was far from happy

And luck was clearly not on Bingham’s side in the eighth frame during a routine attempt of a safety shot.
The 2015 world champion potted the first red of the frame, but found himself out of position at the top of the table.
He took his medicine by aiming to place the cue ball behind the yellow, but he was left dumbfounded when the ball curved off line and missed the yellow altogether.
The crowd inside the York Barbican were stunned as Bingham slouched back in his chair and Zhang was awarded four points for the foul.
Davis was on commentary for BBC during the incident and he called out tournament organisers for the table’s condition.
“It’s rolled off on the slate again has it?” Davis said.
“Did it roll off on the slate? It’s along that line.”
John Parrot replied: “It must have done. When we were talking about the slate lines before, that is where it’s at its worse.”

Davis added: “This table needs to be re-levelled if that’s happening.
“It’s two slate lines that Stuart Bingham has not been happy with. Definitely rolled off line.”
