State govt should ensure transparency in recruitment of Municipal administration staff: Anbumani

PMK president Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss on Saturday demanded that the State government make it clear why interviews were being repeatedly conducted as part of the municipal administration staff examination. He wondered if the process was riddled with irregularities.

Dr. Anbumani, in a statement, said looking at the manner in which the Municipal Administration and Drinking Water Supply Department had tried to fill 2566 vacancies, it made one wonder if there were irregularities in the exercise.

“The whole exercise (notification on February 2) has not been transparent and the State government’s approach needs to be condemned… Those who were selected through a test conducted via Anna University, attended interviews in October and November. For the post of Sanitary Inspector, the certificates were checked and interviews were held in January. Usually, the final result will be published after certificates are checked and interviews are concluded, but the Anna University has called for candidates who missed the interviews again and again. This has raised a lot of doubts,” he said.

Dr. Anbumani said the State government must publish the marks scored in the interview and the test as well as the audio-visual record of the interviews conducted.
