Swansea: Explosion caught on doorbell camera

Residents in Penllergaer, Swansea, had a shock this afternoon when they heard a small explosion.

An electrical transformer on the corner of a playing field seems to be responsible.

Footage of the incident was captured on a doorbell camera – showing a large orange flame followed by a very loud bang.

Residents took to social media to find out what had happened with some thinking it may have been a lightning strike.

National Grid have been asked to comment.
