Tension in A.P’s Dachepali during a rally on Chhatrapati Shivaji birth anniversary

Tension prevailed for some time at Dachepalli in Palnadu district as two groups indulged in a heated argument during a rally conducted on birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Wednesday (February 19, 2025).

When the rally was taking place, a group of youth from a particular community allegedly obstructed it and hence the argument started. At this juncture, the police intervened and took action. 

Reacting to the development, Gurazala DSP Boddeda Jagadeesh told The Hindu that, the timely intervention of the police helped in maintaining law and order at Dachepalli.  

He said that, sensing this well before, the police deployed additional security forces at Dachepalli and also placed night picketing. He also added that the religious elders of both the communities also restricted their youth from actively participating in the incident. He said that the situation at Dachepalli is under control now.
