WhatsApp is finally going to make Linked Devices work and become functional with more features. The messaging app lets you use the same account on multiple devices which comes in handy for many people.
And soon, WhatsApp will add a useful privacy feature for people who use their Android phone with other devices like the web, tablet and more. Yes, view once is currently supported on the primary device but WhatsApp is testing the privacy tool to work across all the devices on which your account is running.
Linked Devices Getting More Tools
Bringing view once support to all the linked devices for WhatsApp Android users could be a sensible move, one that many would have liked for a while.
The details come from WaBetaInfo, who has spotted the Android beta version 2.25.3.7 showing a glimpse of how the future update might work. Keeping the view once limited to the primary device has served its purpose and soon your WhatsApp account on the tablet or web will also let you view the photo/video content.
As you might know, the feature basically lets you view a photo or a video one time after which the content expires. You even see 1 written in front of such a message and WhatsApp has made it sure that you cannot screenshot this content which would have negated the point of having the privacy feature in the first place.
We’ll be keeping an eye out for this feature and more that WhatsApp decides to bring over the next few months. The messaging app is also planning to bring a dedicated tab for AI chatbots and other tools which will allow users to try out Meta AI and other third-party features within the app.
