A month after releasing the Raja Ram song from Vikrant Massey’s The Sabarmati Report, makers have now unveiled the female version of the track, strongly capturing the fight for truth and emotions around the tragic Godhra train fire. On Monday, December 2, the song was dropped across social media platforms, revealing another layer of the film’s intense narrative. Music composer Anu Malik made the song announcement on his Instagram handle with a heart note.

With the melodious vocals of Palak Muchhal, the music for the song has been scored by Malik himself, skillfully picturising the essence of devotion, emotion, and outrage. “Some songs are more than just music, they’re emotions. Raja Ram is one of those for me. Working on the Sabarmati Report and this track was a beautiful experience. I hope it brings you the same sense of peace and devotion that it brought me. Jai Shri Ram!” he wrote in the caption.

The music video shows crucial glimpses from the film, including the captivating storyline showcasing people’s heartfelt cries for justice and the media’s relentless pursuit of truth. Earlier in November, the song’s male version debuted at the Muhurat Trading Ceremony at the National Stock Exchange. With music and lyrics from Kartik Kush, the song was crooned by Suresh Wadkar and Kavita Krishnamurthy.

Speaking of the film, The Sabarmati Report features Vikrant Massey, Ridhi Dogra and Raashii Khanna. It revolves around the train burning incident that took place on February 27, 2002, near the Godhra railway station in Gujarat. Stepping into the shoes of TV journalists, the actors could be seen vying to find the truth behind the incident that triggered communal riots in the state.

The film comes at a time when the leading actor Vikrant Massey announced his retirement from acting in a late-night post. Taking to Instagram, Vikrant shared a long note that he has two more films to do before taking a step back from his career to focus more on his personal life. If reports are to be believed, the actor has Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan in the pipeline. However, it is yet to be known if he plans to make a comeback anytime soon.
